Role Description This is a part-time, on-site role for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner based at FastMed Urgent Care in Baltimore, MD. The clinician will independently evaluate and manage patients with acute illnesses and injuries, including conducting focused histories, physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. Daily responsibilities include performing procedures such as wound care, suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and administering medications or treatments according to established protocols. The role involves diagnosing conditions, developing evidence-based treatment plans, prescribing medications as appropriate, and providing clear discharge instructions and follow-up recommendations. The clinician will collaborate with physicians and other team members, ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record, support clinic workflow, and contribute to a safe, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Maryland, with active DEA registration or eligibility.
• Demonstrated clinical skills in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of common acute conditions.
• Proficiency in office-based procedures (e.g., wound repair, splinting, I&D, joint injections) and comfort with ordering and interpreting basic labs and imaging.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient education, family discussions, and effective collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting, manage multiple patients, and prioritize care while maintaining quality and safety.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate, timely clinical documentation practices.
